Health and Safety

“My immediate focus will be the health and well being of our community as we continue to navigate the pandemic. I will work closely with local and state health officials to make sure we take only the necessary precautions to keep our city healthy and thriving.”

“Additionally, in a recent survey about city services, Tyler residents indicated a high level of satisfaction with public safety services. That is an endorsement I will take seriously as mayor. As we plan for Tyler’s bright future, we must remember the necessary support needed for our police department, our fire department, and the public services that make Tyler feel like home.”

Community

“My experience working alongside the city government, including relationships with the Economic Development Council, the Chamber of Commerce, the Hispanic Business Alliance and City of Tyler employees, has allowed me to develop important links with a growing list of businesses and supportive citizens.”

“I pledge to listen to community leaders from around the city, to make sure we are all doing our part to work together so that “All of Tyler” remains the best place to live, work, and raise a family.”

Civic Projects

“As City Councilman, I  created public-private partnerships that proved instrumental with improvements to Bergfeld Park as well as the Hillside Park Renovation. These projects were paid for in cash through generous private donations and the “Half Cent Pay-As-You-Go” program. The Bergfeld and Hillside Park projects are perfect examples of the benefits we see from both the Half Cent program and private initiatives from everyday citizens and local Tyler businesses. This policy has been a great success for the city, and it is a program that I will maximize. Tyler deserves the benefits of our parks as examples of civic pride for our current citizens and as attractions for people seeking to move here. That message should be uniform in all of our endeavors.”

Infrastructure

“As Tyler continues to grow, I will be addressing our infrastructure challenges including water, wastewater, streets and drainage, and I will work with the City Council to add the latest traffic technology to keep up with the rapid growth Tyler is experiencing.”
